Desk Occupancy

Workspace Optimization with Sensing Technology

SmartEagle, is a highly advanced facility management sensing solution which provides insight into occupant behavior and space utilization. For example, it can provide data that shows the percentage of used desks and which desks are occupied. These insights enable the facility manager to better organize the spaces in the building and save costs by, for example, only cleaning the desks that were used.

The SmartEagle Sensor also measures workspace occupation and shows users which desks are still available. The sensor indicates three statuses: available, occupied or sign of life. Sign of life means that the workspace is occupied because there are personal items on the table such as a coffee cup or a laptop. With this information, users can find available workspaces conveniently.

Since Covid-19, most people work at home. After the initial spreading of the disease, it is expected that work at the office will gradually return. However, a minimum distance between office workers will still be necessary. How can you make sure that the situation in your office is safe?

SmartEagle has developed a Distance Sensor that allows you to measure the distance between people in an (office) space. If it gets too crowded at the reception, in the lunchroom or near the coffee machine, the system will give a warning. Now you can better guarantee the safety of your employees and visitors.

The distance between people is measured with a network of optical SmartEagle sensors.

Privacy

by Design

SmartEagle has advanced on-board analytics. It contains a processing unit with AI machine learning software to calculate the real time occupancy accurately on the device itself.

Only the occupancy (meta)data of workspaces and distance between people in the office is shared. Person identities are not determined and can therefore not be shared. Result is, the privacy of individual employees is protected.

Proven sensor devices with accurate, reliable and easy to maintain sensing software.
Easy to install
Standard ceiling mounted devices are used. They can be installed easily in new or existing buildings. They work out of the box with the pre-configured software. No physical devices needed at individual laptops, desks or chairs.
Software upgradeable
The Software as a Service (SaaS) licensing model makes implementation of new and improved functionality very easy for the users.
Flexible
SmartEagle can be used to measure occupancy and distance for a large variety of flexible office space working areas such as open spaces, silent areas, meeting rooms, class rooms, coupé’s, libraries. It can also be configured for your specific requirements.

Scalable
One sensor device covers multiple work spaces. The actual coverage area will depend on the mounting height (ceiling height). Using multiple sensors the entire relevant working area is covered.
Connected
The occupancy and distance data is easily shared with other systems using API or other (cloud based) standard interfaces.
Real-time Sensing
SmartEagle output is a real time map of all occupied and available workspaces in the building and the distance between people in these spaces.
“Sign of Life”
When a workspace desk is not empty (e.g. a laptop on the desk), but there is no person at the desk, the workspace state is “sign of life”. This visibility helps to avoid unnecessary claims and optimizes the real usage of available spaces.
